Most artists have few or no basic marketing skills. This is
especially true in the music world, where many people (even on the
national level) attempt to market themselves or another act without any
of the baseline knowledge that is even taught to college freshmen in
their Intro to Marketing and Intro to Advertising classes. Jim has tapped into his 25 years of marketing training and experience to create Marketing 101, a seminar for singers, musicians and bands. This PowerPoint-driven program distills all of the key topics necessary for effective marketing: it covers branding, copy writing, using the web, what goes into a press release, etc. His first seminar is scheduled for Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Carnegie Library Squirrel Hill.
